March’s sustainability event allowed us to foster a deeper connection with nature while exploring the theme of sustainability during our guided walk in the breath-taking Mount Congreve gardens. Nestled amidst lush greenery, scenic landscapes, and beautiful woodland it provided the perfect backdrop to connect and admire the natural world whilst also allowing us to boost our wellbeing (SDG3). Research shows that forest bathing and being surrounded by nature can lower cortisol levels, improve cognitive function, and increase feelings of relaxation and happiness.
Another highlight was witnessing first-hand the rich biodiversity that thrives in Mount Congreve’s ecosystem. Our walk was not just about admiring nature’s beauty; it was a chance to have meaningful conversation about sustainability - from conservation efforts to organic growing principals to reducing our carbon footprint in sourcing materials such as compost.
All of these combined allowed us to open our minds and think differently; exploring new and practical ways to make a positive impact on the world around us.
Each step was a step towards a brighter future. Thank you to all those who joined us and we invite others to join our future sustainable adventures. Stay tuned!
