We’re looking for a few lucky participants aged 18- 29 to join us for an amazing youth exchange in Slovenia. Relationships are fundamental pillars in our daily lives and this project seeks to highlight the importance of the relationships we establish, with ourselves, with others and with the natural environment that surrounds us. You will be joining some members of our Youth Advisory Climate Council (YACC) who will be participating using the lens of climate action. Young people and adults alike often don't reflect enough on how we feel and how our actions impact the world and those around us. It’s essential to understand these connections in order to live more consciously and responsibly. We’re especially looking forward to seeing how this exchange will give us the tools to harness our relationships for a more just and equal world for all. The trip is fully funded by Erasmus+ and you will receive a Youthpass certificate, reflecting your growth and learning throughout this unique experience. We will also follow up after the exchange to evaluate the project and will ask you to complete some very simple tasks.

Goals:

  • Promote responsibility towards the environment: Connecting more deeply with nature and understanding our impact on it.
  • Enrich one's understanding of oneself: Through self-reflection and mindfulness.
  • Strengthen interpersonal relationships: Through active listening and conscious commitment.

Individual Opportunities:

  • Reflection: To understand oneself better.
  • Active listening: Build stronger connections.
  • Mindfulness: Stay present and engaged.
  • Awaken: Be aware of the environment.
  • Nature: Connect with the natural world.

In addition, we will go on an outdoor excursion in the beautiful Slovenian nature, where we will put into practice what we have learned through non-violent communication and mindfulness exercises, all in a stimulating and welcoming environment.

How to apply: Email sarah@sliwaterford.ie with your name, age, contact number, why you would like to participate, why you think you would be a good fit, what areas interest you and that you are aware there will some very easy follow up tasks after the trip that you will need to complete.
