Building Climate Leadership, is our new new peer-led education project, working with 10 primary schools across the South East.
The project empowers students to become climate leaders. SLí facilitators deliver workshops on sustainability topics like food waste, plastic pollution, fast fashion, etc to senior cycle primary students. These students then teach their classmates and lead their school in taking real climate action.
Each class designs and carries out a practical ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) action—these could include awareness posters, social media campaigns, school-wide pledges, or a hands-on environmental activity like composting or clean-ups.
We’re also creating a free Climate Leadership Teacher Resource, with lesson plans, activities, and background info. It will be available in print for participating schools and free online for all educators.
