Artivism: Creativity with Purpose

This project combines art and activism to inspire climate awareness and action through creative community expression. No experience necessary—just an open mind and a willingness to take part. And here’s the exciting part: you and your group can be part of it. We’re offering free workshops for adult and community groups that blend hands-on creativity with meaningful discussion about climate justice and global solidarity. And it’s not just about paint and paper—your group can choose any form of creative expression:
🎭 A play or performance
🎨 A collaborative mural or visual artwork
📖 A handmade book
🌱 A living installation like a garden or sculpture
…or anything else your group dreams up!

A Collaborative County-Wide Exhibition

Each group will work together to create a collaborative artwork or project, reflecting your community’s voice, concerns, and hopes for the future. These works will be featured in a county-wide exhibition, showcasing the diversity, creativity, and climate consciousness of adult learners and community members across the region. After the exhibition, your group will keep your creation—a lasting piece of shared work, conversation, and care.

Why Get Involved?

Our workshops offer more than just a creative outlet. They’re a chance to:

  • Explore climate change through a global justice lens
  • Gain new creative tools for activism and expression
  • Use art to raise awareness and amplify your community’s voice
  • Gain a sense of connection and solidarity with global communities
  • Leave with a piece of work that’s both personal and powerful

How a Camel Can Help Fight Climate Change – And How You Can Too

What’s a Camel Got to Do with It?

Camels are resilient creatures, adapted to survive in extreme environments. In many parts of the world—especially across the Global South—they are a symbol of adaptation, endurance, and sustainability. As climate change continues to impact vulnerable communities, animals like the camel become silent icons of how life persists against the odds.

In our project, the camel becomes a metaphor for climate justice—and a medium for amplifying the voices of those most affected by the climate crisis. With support from Irish Aid, we’re using art to explore global solidarity, environmental resilience, and the interconnectedness of our world.
