This Valentine's day the people of Waterford broke up with waste. The second instalment of our general swap proved to be a resounding success - this time with a special YACC twist. They brought amazing energy to the day!
Focused on reuse and mindful consumption, the swap saw countless items find new, loving homes—reducing waste and extending the life of everyday goods.
Any remaining items were thoughtfully donated or sold to raise funds for charities and worthwhile causes, ensuring that nothing went to waste. This event exemplifies the power of youth-led action in promoting sustainable living and fostering a more circular economy in Waterford.
😏 How It Worked:
✔️️ Bring up to 5 items (in good nick).
✔️️ Swap them for vouchers.
✔️️ Drop items to swap location.
✔️️ On the day swap your vouchers for whatever items you like.
All for free? What could be better?
💡 Toys, Books, Gift Sets, Games, Candles, Instruments, Sport Equipment - The List Goes On!
🎟️ Free event, all welcome!
Brought to you by Waterford’s wonderful YACC (Youth Advisory Climate Council), @WaterfordSLi and Ardkeen @waterfordlibraries.
