The final installation of our seasonal moss mural series was completed with focus on SDG 11 and 15. Inspired by community discussions about the local heritage and natural assets - including the Anne Valley Walk, Dunhill Castle, local Dolmens, wild deer and even the local wetlands which are an eco-friendly sustainable wastewater treatment in the Village – the mural beautifully reflects the connection between place, sustainability, and community identity. This marks the completion of a powerful and lasting legacy: 12 moss murals now span the South East of Ireland, each one spotlighting a different Sustainable Development Goal. Together, they form a visually impactful and environmentally conscious public art trail that continues to spark dialogue, raise awareness, and celebrate local action aligned with global goals.

Visually, the mural incorporates stylised organic forms and silhouettes of local wildlife, framed by architectural nods to Dunhill’s historic sites. The use of moss not only reinforces the sustainability message by absorbing CO₂ and particulate matter from the air, but also creates a living, evolving artwork that changes subtly with the seasons—deepening community engagement over time.

Massive thanks to our funders and partners: Creative Waterford, Creative Ireland, #PeopleAndPlanet, DEAR Programme, Harney's Bar and the Dunhill community.
