I will admit it. I am disappointed in my generation. We have not done a great job leading the world and for that I am sorry.  But as we celebrate the International Day of Youth this week, I am filled with hope. I think we have hit our rock bottom and the future is bright (and as Timbuk 3 said oh so long ago, I gotta wear shades). This may seem a strange response as we continue to struggle with COVID-19 and the on-going climate challenges but the young people I meet are a constant source of positivity, forward-thinking and energy.  It is their time to lead.  The most important thing we can do now is to equip young people with the skills they need to lead the world to a new normal and step aside. A new normal that prioritises our shared world through responsible consumption, justice, empathy and solidarity. Oh ya, and truth.
